Skyworth Smart TV 55E2 / 55E2D Software and Firmware Update

On this post, we will talk about the topic “How to Update Skyworth Smart LED TV 55E2 / 55E2D Software and Firmware into newer version. To make it easy to follow, I will attached an actual images and video.

Skyworth Smart TV 55E2 / 55E2D Software and Firmware Update Guide

1. Download Skyworth 55E2 / 55E2D Smart TV Software and Firmware (55E2 – 55E2D Software.zip)

2. Open download location (where the file is save) and extract “55E2 – 55E2D Software.zip”.

3. Transfer the filename “install.img” to USB’s root directory.

4. Insert the Flash Disk Drive on USB Port which is located at the back of the TV.

How to guide: 55E2 / 55E2D Software and Firmware Update?

6 . Insert the Flash Disk Drive on USB Port

After we obtain the software, move it inside USB flash disk drive root file. Insert the flash disk drive to Skyworth 55E2 / 55E2D  Smart TV USB port. Please refer to above image.

7. Enter the Factory Setting

To enter “Factory Settings”, you need to have at least the original Skyworth remote control as minimum requirements. On your remote press “Source” button then follow by numeric keys “3”, “1”, “9”, “5” straight forward.

8. Locate “Software Update (USB)”

Using your original Skyworth remote control navigation keys, up arrow or down arrow locate and select “Software Update” then press “OK”. Please refer to above image.

9. Continue “Software Update (USB)”

A pop up message box will appear and say “This will erase all data and TV will reboot to update. Are you sure to continue?” Please refer to above image.

10. Press “Arrow Right Navigation Key”

To continue, on your remote navigation keys, press arrow right key. Please refer to above image. ***It works to all Skyworth Remote!

11. Skyworth 55E2  / 55E2D Smart TV Will Reboot

By pressing the right arrow navigation key on your remote means that you are “green” to initiate the software and firmware update. At this moment, your Skyworth 55E2 / 55E2D Smart LED TV

 will restart on it’s own for a few seconds. Please refer to above image.

12. Please do not turn off the power! 

A few seconds later, perhaps less than a minute, a progress bar appears and the electronic message bulletin box saying “Please do not turn off the power!” Therefore, do not turn it off else you will ruin the whole unit.

13. Install BOOTCODE

Then you will prompt with another electronic message box “Install BOOTCODE”. This will take another few seconds. Please refer to image above.

14. Install LINUX

Then you will again prompt with another electronic message box “Install LINUX”. This will take another few seconds. Please refer to above image.

15. Install VIDEO_FW

Then you will again prompt with another electronic message box “Install VIDEO_FW”. This will last for another few seconds. Please refer to above image.

16. Install OTHER_PARTITION1

Then you will again prompt with another electronic message box “Install OTHER_PARTITION1”. This will last for minute or few more seconds. Please refer to above image.

17. Install Completed!

Then you will finally prompted with another electronic message box “Install Completed!”. This means the update is successful. Please refer to above image.

18. Reboot!

A few second after electronic message box “Install Completed! appeared. The Skyworth 55E2 / 55E2D Smart TV will automatically restart. Please refer to image above.

19. Initial Setup!

Finally, it’s almost done! Now setup your Skyworth 55E2  Smart LED TV with new and updated software running on it.

20. Hello World!

Alas! You can now able to enjoy the rest of days with your super beautiful Skyworth 55E2 Smart LED TV.
